Jonathan C. Makielski, M.D.

Dr. Makielski obtained his MD degree from the University of Chicago, did his Internal Medicine Residency at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, and returned to the University of Chicago for a research and cardiology fellowship.  He was on faculty in Chicago for ten years before coming to the University of Wisconsin Madison in 1995 where he is Professor of Medicine and Physiology. He is an attending cardiologist and conducts an NIH funded research laboratory in the Cellular and Molecular Arrhythmia Research Program where he studies the physiology and pharmacology of cardiac ion channels.
